Riverside
County
Regional
Medical
Center
(RCRMC)
is proud
to announce
the completion
of a Wireless
Medical
Telemetry
Project
at the
Moreno
Valley
campus.
Wireless
medical
telemetry
is used
to monitor
patient
physiological
parameters
(cardiac
signals)
over a
distance
via radio-frequency
communications
between
a transmitter
worn by
the patient
and a
central
monitoring
station.
RCRMC
now has
the capability
of monitoring
cardiac
status
of patients
24 hours
a day,
on 84
wireless
telemetry
transmitters
located
throughout
the facility.
Each telemetry
unit communicates
with a
monitoring
room located
centrally
on one
of the
nursing
units.
This expansion
provides
telemetry
capabilities
to the
emergency
department
and all
medical
and surgical
units.
RCRMC’s
telemetry
equipment
is state-of-the-art
and complies
with FCC
regulations
by utilizing
the new
Wireless
Medical
Telemetry
Service
(WMTS)
frequency
band.
WMTS is
the only
frequency
spectrum
designated
exclusively
for medical
telemetry
systems
to ensure
uninterrupted
cardiac
monitoring.
RCRMC is
committed
to providing
quality
health care
to the residents
of Riverside
County.
