Riverside
County Employee
Campaign
Employees
of the County
of Riverside
may designate
RCRMC Foundation
as the recipient
of their voluntary
payroll contributions
for the Riverside
County Employee
Campaign. To
make this
designation
you must write
in RCRMC Foundation
and include
the Foundation’s
Federal Tax
ID number
33-0374018
on the enrollment
form.
Bequests
When
you leave
a bequest
to the RCRMC
Foundation
through
your will
or revocable
trust, you
can make
a generous
donation
without
reducing
your cash
flow during
your lifetime. Bequests
to the RCRMC
Foundation
will reduce
the value
of your
estate for
federal
estate tax
purposes
and will
be exempt
from state
inheritance
taxes. With
a bequest
to the RCRMC
Foundation,
you combine
your charitable
commitment
to the health
care of
the community
with your
overall
financial,
tax and
estate planning
goals.
If you
plan to
make a charitable
gift by
bequest,
meet with
your financial
advisor
to discuss
and update
your will
or trust. Please
let us know
of your
intent. We
would very
much like
to assist
you in meeting
this goal
and recognize
your generosity. If
you would
like to
remain anonymous,
your gift
will be
kept completely
confidential.
There
are several
ways to
make a bequest
to the RCRMC
Foundation:
Specific
Bequest – This
is a
gift
of a
specific
dollar
amount
or item
such
as securities
to a
specific
beneficiary.
Residuary
Bequest – This
is a
gift
of a
percentage
of your
estate
after
all
other
bequests,
debts
and
taxes
have
been
paid.
Contingent
Bequest – This
is a
bequest
made
on condition
that
a certain
event
must
occur
before
distribution
to the
beneficiary. For
example,
if another
beneficiary
does
not
survive
you
or is
unable
to inherit,
then
that
portion
of your
estate
will
be paid
to the
RCRMC
Foundation.
Endowment
Bequest – An
Endowment
Bequest
allows
you
to restrict
the
principal
of your
gift. The
RCRMC
Foundation
would
be required
to hold
the
funds
permanently
and
use
only
the
investment
income
they
generate.
You
receive
a significant
tax advantage
by making
a gift of
appreciated
securities
to the RCRMC
Foundation.
In most
cases, the
full market
value of
securities
on the date
of transfer
is deductible,
while the
capital
gains are
eliminated.
For example,
you purchased
a publicly
traded stock,
bond or
mutual fund
for $200
and it is
currently
worth $1,000. The
IRS will
allow you
to transfer
the stock
or bond
to the RCRMC
Foundation
without
paying capital
gains on
the appreciated
amount. This
means that
your original
$200 investment
will become
a $1,000
gift to
the RCRMC
Foundation
and you
won’t
be liable
for taxes
on the $800
gain.
Do not sell
the stock
first or you
will lose
the tax benefits. A
direct electronic
transfer is
quick, easy,
and can be
handled by
our broker. For
additional
information,
please feel
free to contact
the Foundation
office.
