Preemies to Celebrate Holidays at RCRMC Neonatal ICU Reunion
Riverside County Regional Medical Center preps for hundreds of kids in downtown Riverside

RIVERSIDE COUNTY, CALIF.—Premature babies, born so small they could be cradled in the palm of a hand, will reunite with healthcare providers who helped save their lives during Riverside County Regional's First Annual Neonatal ICU Reunion on Saturday, Nov. 29th.

The free holiday-themed reunion will kick off at 9:30 a.m. at the Riverside Convention Center in downtown Riverside. Activities throughout the morning will include the Polar Playground and time with Santa. The reunion is part of the RCRMC Foundation's Annual Festival of Trees activities, which support and promote pediatric programs at the hospital.

Organizers say the event is open to NICU graduates of all ages. About 100 graduates of RCRMC's NICU are expected to attend the celebration—most of them younger than kindergarten age. But grown graduates also plan to attend, to honor the hospital's 122-year legacy of caring for new mothers and their infant children.

Riverside County Regional Medical Center Awarded at the 2014 Donation & Transplantation Symposium
Riverside County Regional Medical Center's commitment to saving lives through organ, eye and tissue donation has been recognized by the federally-designated organ, eye and tissue recovery agency in the greater Los Angeles Metropolitan area, OneLegacy. During the agency's annual Donation & Transplantation Symposium, held this past Tuesday, October 21st, 2014, at the Fairplex Conference Center in Pomona, the hospital received two significant awards.

On one hand, Riverside County Regional Medical Center (RCRMC) received a plaque for "Excellence in Partnerships" and was declared the hospital that provides the most donation inspiration to others. In April 2014, RCRMC pioneered a year-long county-wide campaign to encourage their nearly 20,000 county employees to Donate Life. This effort was developed with a strong partnership between RCRMC, the Riverside County Board of Supervisors and OneLegacy. The campaign is the first known to encourage donor registration county-wide in California and in the US.

Greetings from the CEO

Zareh_SarrafianDear Friends,

It is an honor to introduce myself and to be given the opportunity to work with all of you. I look forward to meeting and getting to know each of you personally in the coming weeks and months. After working in the healthcare industry for over 25 years, 10 years at Kaiser Permanente and 16 years at Loma Linda University Medical Center, the opportunity to serve alongside a team of committed professionals who deliver quality healthcare and outstanding service to some of our most vulnerable neighbors was one I could not refuse. I am humbled and grateful to be part of this special ministry and mission.

I recognize our institution and many of you directly have weathered some incredibly challenging times and difficult circumstances in the past few years. Rest assured you are not alone in having to respond to the fluid and ever-changing landscape of healthcare. The journey ahead will have its challenges, but I am confident about the future of RCRMC and excited about its crucial role as a leader in healthcare, service and education. Your dedication, commitment and tremendous sacrifice have made RCRMC a remarkable hospital with a very bright future.

Please do not hesitate to call upon me or stop by to say ‘hello’. I welcome the opportunity to connect with as many of you as possible. Thank you to each of you for the important role you play to en- hance and promote the organization. I look forward to supporting each one of you as you strive to provide service through excellence, and excellence through service.
